Last "n" final blog

Soo here we are again with this english assignment but its my final and last blog. To be honest I doubt I will write on here or even use it again. Its been the longest 6 weeks of my life in this english class. I wont let it stop from accomplishing my goal of getting my A.O.S diploma. I really dont know what to write becuase im really upset how the school chooses the teacher for the gen-ed classes. I believe that they should hire teacher who have a very simple and yet easy way of teaching curtian subject to us becuase most of us haven't been in school for ten plus year like in my case. English is not my strongest subject and it will never be but ive gone to class each day with my I can do it attitude and the willingness to learn but at the end of the class I walk out with WTH did we just learn and I do my homework as best as I can do it . I believe that we shouldnt get points taken off of homework and class work and for attending class but apparently it doesn't matter cuase effort isnt worth anything. So its very frustrating and it makes me wanna just give up but I pushed myself to do the best I can and I made it to the end of this block. Anyway this is my last blog like I said before and im happy about it.so to all those who have read my blog thank you and take care.

Idk what to say

Well here we go again with this blog stuff. Aint nobody got time for this stuff. I'm doing it cause I got to turn something in to pass this class with a decent grade. So I got to pursuay somebody on something. To be honest I dont have anything becuase I believe everybody has the freedom to do what ever the hell they want to do and we are all grown folks. So I shouldnt have to waste my time to tell or write something to make your think about something twice, so you can change your mind and try it or do something. I could careless what people want to do or what they should try. My ideas and what I do is for my to say I did it or I tried. Its sad to say that if your the type of person who has to hear from word of mouth for you to get an idea or to do something than that makes you weak and a slave to your own self surrounding. With that said get over yourself and go do what ever the hell you want. Dont worry about what people got to say nor worry about what they think of you or what they say about you sooo enjoy life and ecplore. Sooo till my next blog so long and take care.

Homemade or restaurant made burritos

Well lets start of with I've been working in the culinary industry for almost to years soo not a lot of places that say fresh food is always fresh. Most of the the time its been pre cooked and than stored for next day use or for whenever its needed. I'm a hispanic and I grown up on lots of food like puerto rican and Salvadoran and Mexican foods. Home cooked food made with such a passion and dedicate old fashion ways.

So if your in the mood for a burrito weather its made with chicken or beef , you want it to taste so fresh and well seasoned. A burrito so explosive from the first bite to your very last bite. I believe that you can have that with a homemade burrito . You can take the time and marinate your chioce of protien for atleast an hour but best if its over night. While that's marinating you can cut up some fresh cumcumber , onions , tomatoes , cilantro and season with salt and pepper and add limon juice and slash of vinegar.

Lets say you go to your local Mexican restaurant spot and you order the same burrito. Their protiens have been sitting out for more than 8 hours if not than its still from the day before. Than you get beans that are canned up and ben sitting out for a while . The pico de gallo that they put in is now not fresh the onion have no bite , the tomatoes smoshed up and it's probably about 4-5 days old.

So now tell me this would you go spend $6-$9 for a burrito that claims to be fresh and  the best or take the time to do it yourself and enjoy the freshness of it ?

Well my readers thanks for reading and until my next blog.

Morning Delight

Its a early Sunday morning and my nose catches the sweets smell of bananas be caramelized in a bailys liquor. After I brushed my teeth and wash my face , I head to the kitchen to find my Grandmother making crepes. So I wash my hands and I start helping her , I make some more crepe batter.

The batter is easy to make its 8oz of all purpose flour, 16oz of milk , 2 large eggs and peeled and sliced bananas . Put all the ingredients in the blender and mix to a perfect liquid consistency.  You heat up a non stick pan and add a little bit of butter and let it melt. Once its melted ; you add the crepe mix slowly and move your pan around so you get an even thin coat on the pan.

As my crepe is cooking I start making my caramelized bananas in Bailey liquor and just add a little bit of brown sugar. And once that is done ; I start cutting some fresh strawberries  into thin slices . The freah strawberries will add a freshness n semi crunch factor to the crepes.

So now my crepe is done and it has a beautiful golden brown finish on both side.I put it on a plate , slow add a dab of nutella and spread it across the middle of my crepe. Now I add my caramelized bananas and fresh strawberries and close my crepe. I grab a spoon and get a spoonful of the syrup from my bananas and drizzle it across my crepe.

Now I'm sit down with a growling stomach and an excitement to eat my delicious breakfast. I cut thru my crepe and all I see is this chocolate delight oozing out and the smell of the bananas , strawberries just taking me to place of happiness.  I take my first bit and it was an explosion of sweet from the nutella and bananas and tang from the fresh strawberries.

The Beginning

My names is Edwin and I Am a inspiring chef. My passion for food started a long time ago when I use to see my mother and grandmother cook and bake in the kitchen. My mother always baked a lot of amazing flans , cookies , cakes , etc. My grandmother cooked a lot of Cuban and Puerto rican food.

One day I was left home alone and  I was about 8 years old and I was hungry and I grab a pan and grabed some eggs , bacon , cheese and made a omelet . After that day I kept cooking and my passion exploded inside of me . I started pursuing my passion professionally in may 2012 at Le Cordon Bleu . I'm still learning and I still trying to find out what I want to do as a career but one thing I know is that I want to open my own business.
